Open Plan
The Omnirax Furniture Company proudly introduces the WeDesk, our new innovative line of modern office furniture that supports advanced Collaborative Ergonomics. The benefits of the WeDesk include promoting collaboration, supporting improved ergonomics, and fitting more people in less space for Open Plan applications.
Modern Office Furniture
By expanding into modern office furniture, Omnirax brings our blueprint for guaranteed customer satisfaction to yet another market.
Our aim is to wrap your workspace around you, putting more functional space within arm’s reach. Everything you need is a chair swivel away.
The WeDesk line of modern office furniture consists of ergonomic organic shapes that create a natural flow and efficiency that situates users and guests in positions that harmoniously enhance social and technological collaboration.
These innovative shapes turn wasted space into added reachable work surface space by cleverly increasing the desk’s critical edge-length, creating a highly efficient cockpit work area that also allows more collaborators to sit comfortably, centered on a computer screen, presentation area or large monitor.
Collaborative Ergonomics
Collaboration
Organizations are emphasizing collaboration to drive innovation and decision making. The trend is toward spaces that support social and small unplanned informal meetings. Space design should ideally de-emphasize a sense of hierarchy by creating more collaborative spaces in more convenient locations. And what is more convenient than collaborations at your own desk? A recent study of 9 industries and 38 organizations found that collaboration promotes:
- Creativity and Sharing Knowledge
- Company Wide Innovation
- Speed of Decision Making
Ergonomics
In addition, a few ergonomic factors that need to be considered for workspaces are:
- Everything within easy reach
- Height Adjustability
- Worktop should be large enough for all equipment and materials organized in work zones- Primary/Usual, Secondary/Occasional and Tertiary/Seldom.
We invite exploration of the collaborative and ergonomic value of our desktops. Legs, storage, power/data, screens and panels are simply elements that support the benefits of the top.

Let’s take a closer look at the WeDesk for the Open Plan office areas.
Conventional systems – cubicles and benches – often position users with their backs to approaching visitors, shielding computer screens. This is Stand and Stare collaboration. This forces collaborators to stand, hovering over the seated user, in order to share a monitor.
WeDesk promotes Sit and Share collaboration.
Cluster Configurations
Nested combinations save space by removing the deep wasted corners of traditional systems furniture. The interlocking shapes provide beehive-like clusters that naturally group users. Users sit facing forward and guest chairs accommodate social interaction or screen collaboration. By rotating the basic WeDesk configuration 30 degrees or 90 degrees a wide array of cluster combinations can be created that allows space planners the flexibility to work around obstacles and maximize “densification”.
The Tri 120 is a cluster of 3 WeDesks combined into one cluster attached at 120 degree angles.
The Inline Quad is a cluster of 4 WeDesks with 2 on each side of a straight center spine.
The Zig-Zag Quad is a cluster of 4 WeDesks with 2 on each side of a zig-zag center spine.
The Inline Six is a cluster of 6 WeDesks with 3 on each side of a straight center spine.
The Zig-Zag Six is a cluster of 6 WeDesks with 3 on each side of a zig-zag center spine.
More People – Less Space
When we compare space planning with these clusters compared to a conventional space plan using square 6 x 6 stations, you can see clearly that the WeDesk fits more people in less space in each example shown below.
This shape delivers more useable work surface space while at the same time taking up less physical space. Each WeDesk is 12% smaller than its equivalent 6′ x6′ station. Space savings vary but are often as much as 33% to 50%. (See examples below).
Here’s how it works:
In the first example, we are showing a room 25′ Wide x 50′ Long. Using Square 6’x 6′ Stations allows for 12 people to fit in this room. Utilizing the WeDesk shape, we can now fit 16 people in this room. This is a 33% increase.
In the second example, we are showing a room 40′ Wide x 90′ Long. Using Conventional 6’x 8′ Stations allows for 40 people to fit in this room each with a guest chair. Utilizing the WeDesk shape, we can now fit 55 people in this room including guest chairs. This is a 37.5% increase.
In the third example, we are showing a space 25′ Wide x 100′ Long. Using Conventional 6’x 8′ Stations allows for 24 people to fit in this room each with a guest chair. Utilizing the WeDesk shape, we can now fit 36 people in this room including guest chairs. This is a 50% increase.
The WeDesk line consistently saves you space in virtually any layout. The larger the space, the more the space savings. WeDesk makes lots of dollars and sense.
